TIPS ON ORGANIZING A CLOTHES SWAP
Out With The Old, In With The New: Tips To Organize A Clothing Swap
If you didn’t get much wear out of some of baby’s outgrown PJs and play clothes it’s a sure bet that your friends can. And they probably have a closet full of cute that’s just the right size for your growing baby. Here are some tips for organizing a baby clothing swap that will make everyone a winner:
- Identify a group of friends with children of varying ages to assure a variety of sizes in clothing and choices for everyone.
- If you’re having it at someone’s home, keep the group to a size appropriate for the space – probably no more than a dozen. If you have a large group, explore the availability of meeting spaces in your church or pre-school.
- If a large group, designate areas for different sizes, avoiding confusion and creating easy access as your friends “shop” for their children.
- Ask participants to be courteous and sort through their clothes first to eliminate anything with permanent stains.
- Safety pin multi-piece garments together so that the outfit stays intact.
- Donate all remaining clothes to a charity, and agree as a group what charity in your area needs them most.
- New to an area? Find a swap online.
